This post is for humans not for Google so I’ll get straight to the point as to why your e-commerce store needs to be using Facebook ads. But before you even think about that there are some things you need to deal with in order to prepare and build a solid foundation for successful Facebook ads later on.
If you’re new here, welcome! My team and I are helping e-commerce businesses & service-based businesses 3x their sales, conversions & leads by mastering proven lead generation strategies with organic & paid social media marketing.
Why Facebook Ads Are a Good Idea for Your Ecommerce Business?
Plain and simple: you can drive direct sales with them to your e-commerce shop and track what the customers are buying. Later down the line you can also retarget customers who have left their carts without purchasing, save an item for later or simply target them because they’ve either viewed your page or stayed on the products page for longer than others.
Do THIS Before You Start With Facebook Ads:
Before you start with your paid marketing in general you need to have organic content visible on your social media channels. But not just any organic content, you need authority-building content related to your niche of products or services. So here’s a list of what you need to do before you even think of running paid Facebook ad campaigns.
1. Have Organic Social Media Presence
Don’t think once you run your ads people will straight away buy whatever is that you offer. No! Even if your product is that good. People need to check for credibility. In a time where we’re bombarded with ads left and right, we need authority proof and credibility. Not only that, people will want to look at what your products do, how they fit, and learn more about them, and what better place to do so than your social media channels?
So make sure your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other socials you focus on are up to date, have valuable content, and give a lot more info about your products and your brand so that when people click on your pages they’re stunned by the fact of how active your brand is. This leaves a good impression that your brand is up to date, uploads relevant content, and is credible.
Only after uploading organic content consistently for 2-4 weeks, only then you can think of Facebook Ads
2. Create an Irresistible Offer
Your Facebook ads won’t work unless you’re running them after you have created a proven offer. And no, free shipping is not your offer.
An offer isn’t your service alone. An offer is a benefit of your service, the way you drive your clients from point A to point B. Your offer should be a no-brainer, easy to invest in, and proven with authority builders such as testimonials, reviews, and metrics.
How do you create an irresistible offer?
- Give solutions to the customers problems
- Give a catchy name
- Provide a guarantee
- Add some bonuses in your offer
- Create urgency or scarcity
How Facebook Ads Work For Ecommerce
Well, it’s quite simple yet complicated. Your Facebook ads have a basic model of working but if you have an experienced agency they can test many different formats, funnels and strategies to see what works best and double down on it later.
Essentially Facebook ads can target your ideal audience manually and later on find more people who fit the profile of previous clients who have made a purchase or are considered a lead. This all happens with a mix of the smart Facebook AI and the brains of the agency people.
The types of ads we’ve noticed work best for ecommerce stores are carousel ads or UGC (user-generated content) videos that show the products in action or are somehow related to the product. Carousel ads are a fun way to see which of your products performs best.
What Budget Do You Need for Facebook Ads?
The budget you need for your ads of course varies, from our experience the lowest budget that drives some decent results is no less than 3500 euros per month in ad spent. Of course, it depends a lot on your business, your target market, and your desired results.
Our agency has seen a lot of growth with different budgets. We manage accounts with ad budgets from 6k euros per month up to 50k.
When determining your Facebook ads budget, consider the following:
Advertising goals: Define your advertising goals, whether it’s increasing brand awareness, driving traffic to your website, or increasing sales. Each objective will require a different level of investment
Target audience size: Consider the size of your target audience and the competition in your industry. If you have a large target audience and high competition, you may need to spend more to achieve your desired results.
Ad placement: The placement of your ad will also impact your ad spend. For example, in-feed ads tend to be more expensive than story ads.
Ad creative: High-quality ad creative tends to perform better and can lead to a higher return on investment (ROI). Allocating more of your budget to ad creative can be beneficial.
Testing: Testing different ad creatives and targeting options can help you determine which strategies are most effective for your business. Allocating a portion of your budget to testing can help you optimize your campaigns and achieve better results.
